The decorated bow was for hunting. An otterskin quiver awaits this man's arrows. The arrow tips were made from obsidian or jasper; the shaft from manzanita or birch. The fletchings, from a now endangered species of bird, made the arrow fly straight. The bow was usually made of yew wood and sturgeon glue. It was backed and strung with sinew.
