HVHS Karuk Language Web Site

The Hoopa Valley High School

Karuk Language Class Of 1999.

This is the second year Hoopa High has had an Indian Language program featuring the native languages for this area: Karuk, Hupa, and Yurok.

The last few weeks our class has been working with Microsoft FrontPage; learning how to build a web site so we can share our language with you.

This Website was built by the Karuk Language Class: Nisha, Emilio, Elaina, Alan, Sheena, and our teacher, Susan.

In the pages that follow you will find you are able to click on a picture and listen to the Karuk words that our class recorded.

Netscape users: When you click on an image a sound box will appear that you can play the sound again and again by clicking on the play button. When you are done with one sound just close the box or click on a different picture.

Internet Explorer users: When you click on an image, the browser takes you to a blank page with a sound player on it. Click the play button to listen to the karuk word.To return to the original page click the back button on your tool bar.
