Food and Nutrition ProgramThe Northern California Indian Development Council, Inc. administrates a state-wide California Food & Nutrition Program (CFNP) designed to develop nutriton education programs and inform tribal governments and Indian communities of nutrition programs available through the federal government. It is basically a informational project to get more Indian communities to participate in programs such as the summer food program and the school breakfast program. When NCIDC first began this project there were only two tribes with summer food programs. In after the first phase, there were 28 involved, so the project is quite productive.
