Program Assistant III

The Program Assistant III reports to the Education Program Coordinator and works in Crescent City, California. The Program Assistant III works directly with the Education Program Coordinator to provide administrative functions of the center, support services to students and family and coordinates staff and parent training. The Program Assistant III will work closely with students and families to address and resolve academic and absenteeism issues, family, careers and student behavior. Presentations will be made to students at community events and school classrooms. The Program Assistant III will work in the implementation of the Tobacco Use Prevention Education Program.  Native American Preference Applies per P.L. 93-638.

Indigenous Education Advocate

Applicants interested in applying for the Indigenous Education Advocate need at least 1-2 years of professional or other experience in a relevant field, such as organizing, tribal government, policy-advocacy, the non-profit or legal services sector, or education sector. An understanding of unique issues facing Indigenous people and Native Americans in Northern California, familiarity with current Indigenous movements, and passionate desire to advocate for the rights of indigenous peoples and affect make change in this region. Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to conduct web-based research are necessary skills. Native American Preference Applies per P.L. 93-638.
